Silk is made of protein consisting of 18 kinds of amino acids, which are similar to the composition of human skin. Therefore, it is gentler on the skin than other natural yarns. The cross section of the fiber is triangular, which gives it a beautiful luster when light is reflected. It is also very soft to the touch due to its fine fibers, and has been a popular material for centuries.

Titanium is a metal that is also used in medicine, and is said to be the metal that is least likely to cause metal allergies. There are various types of titanium depending on its purity. We use pure titanium (JIS Class 1) for our piercing posts.
